AC charging at home or a charging station uses the 11 kW on-board charger.

The traction battery can supply electrical equipment, including e-bikes, tools, audio and cooking appliances. Additional hardware, such as Volvo’s vehicle-to-load adapter, is required.

With two-zone climate, an optical sensor continuously measures cabin PM2.5. Read the level on the centre display or EX30 app; the app also supports pre-cleaning before entry.

The cabin filter removes dust, pollen and other particles. If the air-quality sensor detects high levels of hazardous gases outside, the system closes the intakes and recirculates cabin air.

The heat pump reduces energy used for cabin heating and can help heat or cool the battery to support range and performance. Its greatest electrical-energy savings are at 0–20°C. By managing cabin humidity relative to outdoor conditions, the sensor helps limit misting inside the windows.

Driver and passenger can set separate temperatures through the centre display or voice control. Rear floor and console outlets distribute air to rear passengers. Set a pre-conditioning timer on the display or start it remotely in the Volvo Cars app; the app can also activate seat and steering-wheel heating.

The centrally mounted 12.3-inch HD touchscreen combines driving information with navigation, entertainment, climate, apps, phone and parking cameras. Its upper driver-information area shows speed, road signs, navigation and surroundings. A large map can remain alongside phone/media windows; views and maps are customisable. Contextual shortcuts appear only when usable, including camera and tailgate controls at sufficiently low speeds.

High-resolution bird’s-eye, 180° front/rear and 3D views help with confined manoeuvres. Split-screen viewing combines surrounding and front/rear images, with intended-route graphics and reversing guidelines. Front, rear and side ultrasonic sensors warn of nearby objects.

Maintains a chosen speed and adjusts it for distance to slower traffic, from standstill to 150 km/h. It can assist with overtaking, adapt speed for curves and speed limits, and follow stop-and-go traffic. This remains driver assistance; the driver controls the car.

The exterior sensor set has up to five radars, five cameras and twelve ultrasonic sensors. Together with interior sensing, it monitors the surroundings and helps address distraction and drowsiness.

The interior mirror and driver-side door mirror automatically dim in response to headlights behind, then return to their normal state when the glare ends.

Above 10 km/h, BLIS monitors blind spots and rapidly approaching traffic from behind, in varied light and weather. A door-mirror light warns of risk on the relevant side. If the driver still steers into an approaching vehicle’s path, steering assistance may help return the car to its lane. Driver attention remains essential.

Front/side radars and the front camera monitor vehicles, motorcycles, scooters, pedestrians and cyclists ahead. Warnings precede brake pre-charging or boosted braking assistance; full automatic braking can help when impact is nearly unavoidable. Slight steering assistance can support an emergency manoeuvre already initiated by the driver. Functions are supportive and may vary by market.

Rear radars detect vehicles, cyclists, scooters and pedestrians approaching a parked car from behind. Audible and visual warnings can alert an occupant preparing to open a door.

At straight crossings and intersections with oncoming traffic, collision-risk detection can trigger automatic braking to help avoid an impact. The driver remains responsible.

A camera monitors lane markings above 65 km/h. Unsignalled drifting can trigger steering-wheel vibration; using the indicator for a lane change suppresses the warning.

If the car unintentionally crosses a lane marking without an indicator, gentle steering assistance can help it return. Audible, visual or steering-wheel vibration warnings may also occur. This is a supportive function.

Signature LED headlamps provide road lighting. Together with the rear lamps, they can play a welcome or farewell sequence when you approach or leave.

At low reversing speeds, the system can detect vehicles, stationary objects and pedestrians, including children. If collision risk is detected, it can brake and hold the car until the driver takes control.

This always-active emergency lane aid can detect an unintended move into an oncoming lane and steer the car back when a collision with an approaching vehicle is likely. Driver responsibility is unchanged.

Detects four-wheeled vehicles approaching on a collision course. If impact is unavoidable, automatic braking can reduce speed by about 10 km/h to lessen the impact.

Press the accelerator to accelerate and release it to slow down, potentially to a standstill. Regeneration returns electrical energy to the battery on lift-off. Switch the function off when you prefer to use more coasting energy.

On rural roads with visible lane markings, the system may steer around a pedestrian, cyclist or scooter travelling in the same direction, provided it can stay within the lane. The car returns to its road position after passing. This remains driver assistance.

Supports speed, following distance and lane centring on single- and multi-lane roads, up to 130 km/h. It can adapt to curves and speed limits, assist lane changes in certain conditions, and adjust positioning when passing trucks or meeting traffic without a physical divider. Remain fully attentive. Volvo says some functions arrive through over-the-air updates.

Following activation of an airbag or belt pretensioner, automatic braking helps reduce the risk of a further collision with people or other vehicles.

Rapid hazard-light flashing can warn a vehicle approaching too closely from behind. If impact is unavoidable while the car is stationary, the brakes can activate to help reduce whiplash risk.

Rear radars detect crossing vehicles, cyclists, motorcycles, scooters and pedestrians when reversing with limited visibility. A display message and a warning from the appropriate side’s speaker identify the risk. If the driver does not respond and impact is imminent, automatic braking can intervene.

Provides subtle accelerator resistance when the selected speed limit is reached. Pressing the accelerator further overrides it. This is assistance rather than a replacement for driver judgment.

With adaptive cruise control or Pilot Assist and a vehicle ahead, speed can follow traffic down to a stop and resume with it. After a stop longer than ten seconds, use the accelerator or steering-wheel resume button to reactivate support.

In the standard position, the load floor is flat with a concealed compartment underneath. Lower it with a hand movement to make more room for bulky luggage.

The covered front compartment stores less-used items such as the warning triangle, tyre-repair kit or washer fluid. Its lid protects against dust, dirt and moisture while freeing rear luggage space.

An energy-efficient LED on the right side lights the load compartment after dark.

Holds the brakes briefly after the pedal is released, giving the driver time to move to the accelerator when starting uphill or downhill.

Rear-wheel drive separates propulsion torque from the steered wheels. Volvo describes sharper cornering, reduced understeer and improved acceleration traction and towing behaviour compared with front-wheel drive.

The single-speed transmission delivers power without gear changes. A steering-column stalk selects Reverse, Neutral or Drive and also operates Parking mode, the electric parking brake and Pilot Assist.

Automatically arms when the car is locked and monitors doors, bonnet, tailgate, cabin movement, window breakage and changes of vehicle level associated with jacking or towing. Movement and level sensing can be disabled when appropriate; suitability for leaving occupants inside depends on temperature, weather and other conditions.

When the vehicle is locked from outside, the system prevents a door being opened from inside after a window is broken.

An enhanced key is stored in a digital wallet. Eligible iPhone, Apple Watch, Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy devices with UWB can provide approach access and allow driving while the device stays in a pocket or bag. LEDs in the door mirrors illuminate the ground beside the car during unlocking or approach.

The driver airbag works with the belt to protect the head, face and chest in a frontal impact. For a lower-force impact, only the belt pretensioner may activate if needed.

The passenger airbag works with the belt and varies inflation according to frontal-impact force. A lower-force event may require only belt pretensioning. A cut-off switch permits deactivation for a front passenger child seat.

Contains bandages and equipment for immediate first aid. The kit conforms to DIN 13164 and includes instructions in seven languages.

Two USB-C outlets serve the front storage area and two are at the rear of the console. Charging output is up to 18 W.

Google Maps provides traffic-aware routing; Google Play supplies apps for music, podcasts and audiobooks. Google Assistant supports voice control, calls and messages. The catalogue additionally describes Google Gemini and Connect Plus with unlimited data for four years, then a fee. Some apps need setup; compatibility/availability vary and the Gemini description is 18+. Wireless Apple CarPlay brings compatible iPhone navigation, calls, messages and music to the centre display, with Siri voice control. Wireless Android Auto supports compatible Android apps for media, directions and parking; use Google Assistant or the wheel’s voice button for hands-free commands. A compatible Android phone and active data plan are required.

Place a compatible phone on the inductive charging pad at the front of the console. A separate space beside it stores another phone.
